Built in the ninth century, on the banks of the River Orb, it has managed to preserve the uncluttered beauty of its past as a fortress. In the 17th and 19th centuries, it became the summer residence of the Bishops of Béziers. Fully refurbished and enhanced by works of internationally-renowned contemporary artists, it is now a well-appointed hotel equipped with a lift and wi-fi connections. In the park, three-hundred year old Lebanese cedars watch on incredulous at the metamorphosis unfolding before their eyes. The swimming pool is the theatre of superb relaxation.
