Created in 1975, Châteaux & Hôtels Collection (previously known as Châteaux & Hôtels de France) is the leading French network of charming hotels and gourmet restaurants. The brand brings together 700 establishments in 16 countries, the majority based in France and Italy. Presided over by Alain Ducasse since 1999, the Châteaux & Hôtels Collection promotes independent hotels and restaurants founded upon diversity and authenticity to offer guests real charm under the brand signature “Le charme, le vrai".
Châteaux & Hôtels Collection invites you to travel to the heart of France and Europe and discover their authentically vibrant cultural and gastronomic heritage! The word ‘collection’ has not been chosen by chance; it is at the very core of our philosophy and selection. Châteaux & Hôtels Collection is a collector at heart, with a collector's eye for those talented people who make hotels and restaurants a genuine craft, who know better than anyone how to create unique locations. Châteaux & Hôtels Collection ‘hunts out’ rare pearls, eclectic locations inhabited and steeped in history where cuisine and the ‘crafters of enjoyment’ who bring the place to life play an essential role. The Collection has been built up patiently for almost 40 years now, through its many journeys and encounters.
Charm is that extra something that stands out from the traditional and often emotionless canons of perfect beauty, revealing a personality in all its diversity - whether of a hotelier, a restaurant owner, a time or a place. Seeking out charm means lending preference to that special something rather than the standardised option, to authenticity rather than the superficial, to lesser known back roads rather than well-trodden paths. Real charm - ‘Le charme, le vrai’ - is by definition undefinable - it surprises, bewitches even... and never leaves you feeling indifferent.
Whether a country house in Provence or the restaurant of a young chef, for Châteaux & Hôtels Collection the journey must be an experience. Beyond the hotel or restaurant service provided, the journey is one of discovery, surprise... and most of all an encounter with men and women passionate about their profession. The dining venues of these contemporary innkeepers resemble their path in life, their tastes and their culture. Guardians of this living heritage and creators of a new art de vivre, Châteaux & Hôtels Collection chefs support contemporary cuisine, one of singular and plural identity. Châteaux & Hôtels Collection’s ‘Tables Remarquables’ bring together this community of independent restaurant owners who, with their expertise and generosity, work daily to maintain the art of eating well.
